For the past few years, United Church News has had 14 Conference editions and about 60,000 subscribers. According to a formula worked out by the UCC's research department, that means about 108,000 readers.

Next month all that will change.

United Church News will appear the same nationwide, sporting a front page with a large, color photo and "good news" story, and individual Conference sections.

Best of all, there's a new subscription system—United Church News is now free to anyone who asks for it!

Already, more Conferences are signing up to publish their newspapers as part of United Church News. Local churches are signing up their lay leaders and, among others, their new members to receive free subscriptions.

In return, readers and churches will be asked to contribute voluntarily to this communication ministry.

So, come grow with us! Send a list today of your church board members, or your new members, or any other members who do not already receive United Church News, and get on board in time for the special July-August, post-General Synod issue.

Send your list of new names (including your local church, city, state and Conference) to United Church News, P.O. Box 247, Bellmawr, NJ 08099. Or e-mail the list to ucn@pubinfocenter.com. You also can phone in one or two names toll-free (800-363-0575, or use the coupon on the opposite page.

The deadline for receiving new names for the July-August issue—which includes the General Synod/Assembly wrap-up—is Friday, July 27.

This summer, we'll track the number of new Conferences publishing as part of United Church News, along with the number of new subscribers. Watch for the results!
