United Church News increases readership
Written by Ron Buford
The United Church News "Free at Last" Campaign continues to be a huge success. In the first month we received more than 12,000 new subscriptions by e-mail, snail mail, the web, phone, and fax.
The word is out. New subscriptions continue to flow from all regions of the country—and, surprisingly, from around the world.
Here are the top five questions about this campaign:
5. Is it really free? Yes. The plan is to support the paper with ad sales and donations from members. So far we are on-target for both increased subscriptions and voluntary contributions. We invite individuals and churches to donate voluntarily.
4. Who can sign up? Everyone is invited to sign up. The news of the United Church of Christ—from safe center to exciting edges—is worth telling. Sharing it is our vocation.
3. Can I sign up my church or group? Yes. We've received member lists ranging from 20 to more than 1,000.
2. How will my name or list be used? We covenant to use member subscription lists exclusively for the distribution and support of United Church News.
And the No. 1 question...
How do I sign up? Whether you have one name or thousands of names, we want them:
By mail to United Church News, P.O. Box 247, Bellmawr NJ 08099;
By phone at 800-363-0575 from 9-5 ET, Monday through Friday;
By e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org;
On the web at ucc.org/ucnews/subscribe.htm.
Join the fold! A fresh new wind blows among us. This is the place to be. This is our time. Thanks be to God.
