Growing demand, changing lifestyles and community revitalization are driving factors in an $83-million, UCC-related investment in the future of senior living in Phoenix, Ariz.
"The Promenade at the Beatitudes Campus" will be an expansion of the existing full-service, continuing care retirement community, the Beatitudes Campus, a ministry of Church of the Beatitudes UCC in Phoenix. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on January 25.
New construction will include additional one- and two-bedroom apartments and patio homes, as well as significant renovation to existing buildings on the 22-acre campus.
The Promenade will feature a fitness center, swimming pool, fine dining, spa and beauty salon, woodworking shop, scenic walking trails and landscaped gardens. Residents also will have priority access to on-site assisted living, skilled nursing and memory support, if ever needed.
Since 1965, the Beatitudes Campus has offered older adults the opportunity to live in a faith-based community. It is a corporate member of the UCC's Council for Health and Human Service Ministries, a coalition of more than 350 UCC-related service ministries nationwide.
"The Beatitudes Campus has set the standard for senior living for more than four decades, as evidenced by the ongoing demand for the lifestyle we offer," said Peggy Mullan, president and CEO, in a press release. "Promenade is a continuation of our devotion to seniors and their lifestyles. Through the sense of community, camaraderie and independence that residents will find at Promenade, the Beatitudes Campus will continue to be at the forefront in senior housing in the Valley."
