Worlds AIDS Day

Every 9 1/2 minutes someone in the United States is newly infected with HIV.

Although it's official observance is on December 1st, we must remember that everyday there is a person in the world living with AIDS is a World AIDS Day.  World AIDS Day an important occasion for building awareness and stepping-up our responses to the HIV/AIDS pandemic in our own communities and around the world.

The World AIDS Campaign theme for World AIDS Day 2010 continues to be "Universal Access and Human Rights".  We continue to stress the importance of the whole church to be significantly engaged in the implementation of the 27th General Synod's resolution, "Calling for Comprehensive HIV Prevention in Church and Community."
