RICHARD TWISS, a member of the Sicangu Band of the Rosebud Lakota/Sioux Tribe, is co-founder and president of Wiconi International, a nonprofit Native American organization with a vision to “encourage people, strengthen families, and build healthy communities in the spirit of Jesus.” His vision and ambition is to help people and communities come to know and experience what it means to live in a “good way.” The “good way” speaks of both, a life free from all manner of destructive forces that would seek to oppress and ruin lives, and empowerment to live healthy and productive ones spiritually, physically and socially.
