AMANDA POWELL will lead the special "Imagine What’s Possible Music Celebration" on Saturday night. While studying opera performance at Shenandoah University, Powell worked as a musician with the United Methodist’s Global Ministries division. During a trip to Southeast Asia, she witnessed and became passionate about the power that music has to connect people from different cultures. Since then, she has performed and presented workshops for many regional and national church events including a gathering of global music song leaders at Princeton Theological Seminary, the quadrennial 10,000 women gathering of United Methodist Women, and the American Guild of Organists. She has served as liturgist and music leader at events with the World Council of Churches and the UCC Church House, and is a music director at Federated UCC in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
