Social Security 101 - Sept 15

Social Security 101 – What you Need to Know

Pre-retirement workshop focuses on three main topics; retirement, survivor, and Medicare benefits. A representative from Social Security Administration will explain the work, age and relational requirements for all of these benefits. They will also explain when and how a person can apply for Social Security benefits. Some of the other questions I tackle are:

• How long do I need to work to become eligible?
• How old do I need to be to apply?
• When can my spouse and child(ren) become eligible?
• How much money can I earn while receive benefits.
• What can I do online regarding Social Security?
