The incoming presidential administration has threatened to send our nation's climate policies into rapid reverse at a time when we should be accelerating our forward movement with heightened moral resolve. Now is the time to renew ourselves to resist harmful policies and recommit to a brighter future that reflects our values.

Because policies related to the climate affect everything from the quality of our air to the basic underpinnings of our economy, this vigil is not simply about narrowly defined environmental concerns. It is about justice for all. It is about attacking racial disparities in public health. It is about creating green jobs. It is about caring for the future of our children. For reasons such as these, this vigil is held in solidarity with every struggle for justice waged today, including those concerned with the rights and equality of immigrants, women, people of color, workers, religious minorities, and LGBTQ persons.

Our vigil will begin at the same time that the new administration officially starts its term of office. Join us at noon on Friday, January 20th as we hold a vigil in Amistad Chapel at the United Church of Christ National Offices located at 700 Prospect East in downtown Cleveland.

This is your opportunity to be part of a movement that aims to shape the future of our country according to the mandates of justice.

RSVP via Facebook.

This event is hosted by The UCC Council on Climate Justice.
