Putting the "T" in LGBTQ Ministries

Putting the \June is pride month and many of our Open and Affirming congregations and members are participating in community pride celebrations across the country. This one hour conversation will focus on the importance of an intentionally trans inclusive, trans justice perspective for participating in pride and engaging in ministries of welcome, inclusion and justice.

Co-Hosts:

  • Rev. Mike Schuenemeyer, UCC Executive for Health and Wholeness Advocacy
  • Louis Mitchell, UCC Trans Still Speaking, and will feature two special guests:
    • Carmarian Anderson, Founder and CEO of Black Trans Women
    • Rj Robles, a Trans activitist

This event is the inaugural National Conversations on LGBTQ Ministries which will take place every other month on the 2nd Wednesday at 2:00 PM Eastern U.S. time. The conversations will offer opportunities to hear the stories, experiences and perspectives of people within and beyond the UCC. They are intended to inform and inspire ministries of grace, welcome, inclusion and justice at the intersection of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. The conversations will be posted as podcasts after the live events.
