About 230 people attended the celebration of the Opening of the second Nahay Children's Development Center on February 10, 2004. Students from Nahay Primary School along with children, principals, and teachers from other nearby schools came to the opening. Several visitors also attended the celebration of the Center that 90 villagers built in a two-month time period.

Part of the celebration included children's drawing and stories about the construction process. One child, named Lamyong, presented a home made TV show on the history of Nahay Children's Development Center.

Lamyong, a child who had received support from the first Nahay Children's Development Center, was able to continue her own education because of a grant she was given for the past three years to help with books and school supplies. As a result of those grants, Lamyong has grown into a confident happier child and potential youth leader of her village according to Xuyen Dangers, Global Missions Missionary for Laos.

Other children like Lamyong, also receive support from the Center. They are given assistance in the hopes that they will not drop out of school. The Center provides, reading, a small library, and activities that include weaving, dancing, singing, and workshops that will help the children to learn and have fun at the same time.

The Nahay Children's Development Center believes all children have potential. They can be developed if they are given a chance. This center can give some of them that chance.
