RESPONSE & COMMITMENT
Prayer of Dedication (ALL)
Oh God, who has changed our future because of your love, may these gifts through One Great Hour of Sharing help change the future of your beloved children in need throughout the world. May the people these monies help, feel your love and presence, and our love. Amen.
Partnership Prayer “A Litany of Freedom”
(adapted from Rabindranath Tagore, India)
One: Where children walk without fear, heads held high;
Where knowledge for all youth is free;
All: Into that freedom for which we long. Let us all awake.
One: Where society has not been broken into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
All: Into that freedom for which we long. Let us all awake.
One: Where the words of teachers and politicians spring out from the depths of truth;
All: Into that freedom for which we long. Let us all awake.
One: Where the tireless striving of social reformers stretches its
arms toward a new humanity;
All: Into that freedom for which we long. Let us all awake.
One: Where the clear stream of creative culture has not lost its
way in the desert sand of dead habit;
All: Into that freedom for which we long. Let us all awake.
One: Where the minds of leaders, scientists and writers are led
forward by you into ever-widening thought and action.
All: Into that freedom for which we long. Let us all awake.
