One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) - the relief, refugee and development fund of the United Church of Christ. One of the Special Mission Offerings received by the United Church of Christ and part of Our Churches Wider Mission (OCWM). The OGHS offering is most often received the third Sunday of Lent, but may be taken at different times. |

The escalating global food crisis is leaving millions of of people throughout the world impoverished, in jeopardy and the threat is serious. In the last six months, prices of basic food staples has increased more than 50%. For the more than one billion people already living on the UN minimum survival wage of U.S. $1 a day, this is devastating. One Great Hour of Sharing continues to work on initiative that address food security throughout the world.

Gulf Coast Hurricane Educational Mission Trip
One Great Hour of Sharing in conjunction with the Office for National Disaster Ministries hosted an Educational Mission Trip to the Gulf Coast, December 8 - 11, 2008. The goal was to see how the church has been involved in the recovery process over the three years since the 2005 hurricanes. Read Story
