A Fast That Lasts

The 2-year model youth retreat to fight world hunger

This dynamic, action-filled 24-30 hour fast has three goals:

 To challenge each participant to commit to making one personal lifestyle change and/or participate in one service project over the year following the fast. The commitments the youth make will help make this A Fast That Lasts for each participant.

 To challenge participating youth groups to commit to making a communal lifestyle change and/or participate in one additional service project over the year following the fast. The new outreach of participating youth groups will make this A Fast That Lasts beyond the local congregations to the whole community.

 To challenge congregations to pledge money that will be used in emergency, development and advocacy initiatives in the United States, Puerto Rico and throughout the world to help poor people help themselves escape poverty and hunger. The money raised for these initiatives will help make this A Fast That Lasts beyond the local community to the whole world.
