Over the past five years, 300,000 people have been killed in Darfur since fighting began between Government forces, allied militia and rebels.  Over this period over 2.7 million people have also been forced from their homes and now live as internally displaced persons (IDPs) or refugees in the region.  The situation continues to worsen as claims have recently surfaced implicating the Sudanese government in attacks against humanitarian workers and internally displaced person camps.  Furthermore, the UN's Ban Ki Moon recently released a statement claiming the current violence is jeopardizing the UN's mission (UNAMID) in the country.   The situation is dire and needs your attention and action.
