Synod-related DVDs have been in high demand since attendees returned home from Hartford. As of August 16, more than 3,340 individual DVDs have been purchased in fewer than eight weeks, which compares quite favorably to the 532 total ordered since the Atlanta event took place two years prior.
Journalist Bill Moyers' inspiring June 23 keynote address appears to be a churchwide favorite from Hartford, if sales records are any indicator. With 556 orders to date, Moyers is significantly ahead of the pack.
Marian Wright Edelman, morning keynoter on June 24, has attracted 339 purchases, while Sen. Barack Obama's afternoon address on June 23, has garnered a third-place finish with 320.
Moyers' DVD popularity even out-distances, by more than 100, the 439 who purchased the perennially-popular "wrap up" video, a fun and inspiring compilation of General Synod highlights.
Other popular presentations from General Synod 26 include actress Lynn Redgrave (280 DVDs purchased), Walter Brueggemann (211), festival worship on June 24, with the Rev. John H. Thomas (206), and the Rev. Peter Gomes, Harvard professor (167).
Thirty-six presentations from General Synod 26 are available. The cost is $25 each for first DVD; $15 each for two to five DVDs; $10 each for six or more, plus shipping and handling. Please allow up to two to four weeks for delivery. Order online or call 800/537-3394.
