Missouri UCC to host Muslim speaker on 9/11 anniversary

Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States, the First Congregational Church of Webster Groves (Mo.) UCC will host on Sunday, Sept. 11 a program titled Peace Be Upon You! – “an interface exploration of common purpose and collaboration designed to move us from tolerance to empathy.”
The event, designed for all ages, will run from 4 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the church, located at 10 W. Lockwood Ave. in Webster Groves.
The keynote will be delivered by Khaled Abdul Hamid, a noted speaker and creator of the web log “Khaled Hamid Forum: Just Some Thoughts of an American Muslim on Politics, Religion, and Muslim Community Issues.”
Workshops begin at 4 p.m., followed by a complimentary casual dinner at 6 p.m. and the keynote address at 6:45 p.m.
