Several Potomac Association churches will hold events in connection with the Presidential inauguration of Sen. Barack Obama. Contact information is listed with each event for those wishing to attend.

The event has been organized by the church's Board of Social Action, Men's Club ministry and other progressive and diverse organizations. Among the artists and speakers who will be featured are Bill Fletcher Jr., Phyllis Bennis, Linda Leaks, Sarita Gupta, Hillary Shelton, the Rev. Graylan Hagler, Omekongo Dibinga and Tram Nguyen. The event (black tie invited) will feature live music and is designed to benefit Bethesda Cares initiatives to prevent utility shutoffs and evictions in Montgomery County. Donations above the $45 dinner ticket price are tax-deductible. Tables may be reserved for $700 which includes dinner for eight plus a $340 donation. Reservations are due by January 11 to Betsy Bennett, 7820 Overhill Road, Bethesda, MD 20814. Reservations must include payment. Checks should be made out to WCUCC with "Inaugural Ball" in the memo line.
In addition, UCC representatives will be participating in other interfaith and ecumenical gatherings during the days before and after the Inauguration.
