Acting president named for Eden Seminary during Greenhaw's sabbatical

Written by J. Bennett Guess
August 14, 2007

Donald H. Driemeier, a retired administrator at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, has been named acting president of UCC-related Eden Theological Seminary in Webster Groves, Mo., effective September 1.

Driemeier will fill the temporary position until February 2008, while the Rev. David M. Greenhaw, Eden's president for the past 10 years, is on a five-month sabbatical.

Greenhaw, who also serves as professor of preaching and worship, will work on a book on the future of Mainline Protestantism. This will be Greenhaw's first sabbatical during his tenure as Eden's president.

The sabbatical, as well as the appointment of Driemeier, received board approval earlier this month.

Driemeier is dean emeritus at the College of Business Administration and retired deputy to the chancellor of the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
