A Pastoral Letter of prayer and support for Aurora, Colo.

In response to the tragic shooting at an Aurora, Colo. movie theater which resulted in the deaths of twelve people, the national leaders of the United Church of Christ have published a Pastoral Letter.
Here is the text of that letter:
On behalf of the United Church of Christ, we convey our prayers and deep condolences to the families, friends, and communities of Aurora, Colorado during this time of tragedy. It is impossible to imagine the sadness and insecurity that our neighbors are experiencing in the aftermath of this senseless act of violence. We stand ready to provide spiritual support to persons and congregations of all faith traditions during this time of loss. May the universal God of justice and peace continue to guide us during our journey toward understanding, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
