In a strong statement lauding the Rev. Everett Parker and the UCC Office of Communication, Inc., Tom Wheeler, Federal Communications Commission Chairman, talked about how Parker joined faith with action to ensure a diversity of voices in media.

At the Newseum in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday Oct. 7, the FCC chair paid tribute to the legacy of the Rev. Everett Parker and the 50th anniversary of his ground-breaking petition --which gave ordinary people a voice in FCC proceedings to make sure that the principle means of communications in the United States would serve everybody—during 32nd Annual Everett C. Parker Ethics in Telecommunications Lecture.
