Twenty-five new missionaries per year: that's the goal of Common Global Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the UCC. Currently, 120 missionaries serve in 55 countries around the world, all in response to specific requests from our overseas partner churches and church agencies. Qualities sought include a strong faith commitment and a call to serve in God's mission; sensitivity to living in a different culture; language proficiency or ability to learn a second language; training and experience relevant to the specific assignment; and ability to adapt to changing conditions.

Missionaries are involved in a variety of ministries such as pastoral and church ministries, health work (both curative and preventive), development work and education. Common Global Ministries is also recruiting Global Mission Interns, college graduates ranging in age from 21 to 30. Global Mission Interns are involved in social service, and peace and justice ministries. Appointments range from one to three years.
