The United Church of Christ Musicians National Network, Inc. 2008 Event is scheduled for August 14-18, 2008 at The Bath Church (United Church of Christ), 3980 West Bath Road, Akron, Ohio. Complete information is available at: www.uccmnn2008.com
We are pleased to announce Dr. James Abbington, Associate Professor of Music and Worship, Candler School of Theology, Emory University, as our keynote speaker.
The event will begin with dinner and an evening concert on Thursday, August 14, 2008, and will conclude with breakfast and a brief service of sending on Monday, August 18, 2008.
What's in the works? Concerts, new music reading sessions, workshops galore, a mini-marketplace, the unveiling of the new UCC "create your worship service online" web site (drag and drop in hymns, service music, praise songs, and have the songs flow from one page to the next!), The Pilgrim Press bookstore, music store, The New Century Hymnal CD collection, and a sample edition of the new UCC praise and worship song book. And lots more!!

Praise and Worship Music Project:
Thank you for your interest in the praise and worship music project currently under development by the Worship and Education Team of Local Church Ministries. The Advisory Team is no longer accepting submissions for the song book.
If you have submitted songs to the Praise Song Advisory Team for consideration and have not received a response, please be patient. The Team is waiting until they have an opportunity to review all submissions before deciding on the final selections for the song book. If you did not receive a letter indicating that your song had not been selected, then it is still in the group from which the final songs will be selected.
It is anticipated that selections for the song book will be made in the summer of 2008. The book is scheduled for publication in the summer of 2009.

The United Church of Christ Musicians National Network (UCCMNN) welcomes all who are involved in worship planning in the local congregation. Our membership includes pastors, musicians, artists, educators and laypersons serving on worship planning committees and/or involved in the music ministries of local churches and United Church of Christ bodies.
The network provides opportunities for communication, information-sharing and continuing education. A UCCMNN conference is held every two years.
The New Century Hymnal on CD:
The New Century Hymnal is being brought to life on a 50+ CD collection! Designed for congregational worship and personal devotion, this all-pipe organ (no singing) resource is currently in development. It will feature all verses for every hymn in The New Century Hymnal, along with a musical introduction to each hymn.
(For verses in other languages, congregations are encouraged to substitute another language for an English verse. Verses equivalent to the number of English verses for each hymn are provided.)
The New Century Hymnal on CD features United Church of Christ musicians playing United Church of Christ pipe organs. Recordings were made live, on location in Cleveland, Ohio area churches.
Volume I: Hymns 1-123 will be available in April/May 2008.
Volume II: Hymns 124-272 will be available in June 2008.
Volume III: Hymns 273-457 will be available in July 2008.
Volume IV: Hymns 458-617 will be available in September 2008.
