In one week a few months back, children at St. John brought in 287 canned goods for Operation Blessing.  So, for Mission:1 Pastor Mike suggested a wager.   He bet the kids if they could collect 1,111 food items for Mission:1, he would either dye his hair purple, shave his head bald or conduct a whole Sunday service dressed as a purple hippo.  Well, the kids opted for the hippo, so on Sunday November 13, with more than 1,300 food items collected, Pastor Mike kept his part of the bargain.  He rented the hippo costume and preached his sermon wearing it!
