Last week UCC General Minister and President Geoffrey Black and other faith
leaders sent an open letter to the President calling for “Aid, Not War in
Afghanistan.”
President Obama outlined his plan on June 22nd which included a drawdown
of 10,000 troops by the end of this year and an additional 23,000 by the end of
next year. Does it go far enough? Too far? As people of faith, we
are called to raise our voices to ensure a more just and peaceful world.
