Health Care Justice

Just Eating?

After the overwhelming, positive response to Mission 1, the Collegium invites and encourages all conferences, associations and congregations to participate and engage in dialogue and discussion during the Lenten Season using the Just Eating Curriculum. This wonderful  curriculum calls us to integrate the commitments and practices of our faith into the way we eat.  We think it will be a great enhancement to your work around food justice and sustainability issues. We look forward to hearing about your Lenten experiences using this curriculum

Let's Move UCC

  • Healthy Eating Cookbook Project
The UCC Council on Racial and Ethnic Ministries (COREM) Health Table is sponsoring a cookbook project featuring healthy recipes for families in the United Church of Christ.  It  will feature your favorite recipes in their traditional form and offer a modified healthy version. Submit your recipes!
  •    Let's Move Faithfully Walking Challenge
As a part of her initiative to reduce obesity in children, First Lady Michelle Obama has issued a challenge to faith and community organizations to get members walking a collective three million miles across the nation. UCC participants took up the call and walked 258,596.36 miles! Thank you for your work!
  • Plan an Instant Recess in you congregation!
Instant Recess” is a 10-minute break, like a coffee break but healthier.  The session can be instituted wherever people gather:  day care centers, schools, workplaces, conferences, places of worship, senior centers, etc. Plan one for your congregation on Let's Move Sunday!
