As part of an annual day of food, fun and fellowship, the United Church of Christ’s Franklinton Center at Bricks (FCAB) will be honoring one of the church’s pioneers, the Rev. Yvonne Delk, during Franklinton Center Day, August 2, in celebration of her four decades of ministry, and her life-long pursuit of human and civil rights for African Americans, children and the poor.

For the past six years, students from Hood College have spent their spring breaks at Franklinton Center at Bricks serving and learning in various ways, and this year is no different, as seven students return March 9-14 for a service trip where they will instill the importance of reading in children ages 5 to 11.

The conference, retreat and education center in Eastern North Carolina hosted students, parents and staff of the Inborden Elementary School this week, as part of FCAB's first Summer Literacy retreat.
