Violence Against Women Act bill passed in Senate

On Tuesday, February 12, the U.S. Senate passed a bill to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act.  This version of the bill covers more women who experience violence in their relationships.  The bill now advances to the House of Representatives for their vote.

God of peace, most of us know women who have experienced physical, emotional, sexual or spiritual violence.  Some of us have endured this violence ourselves.  It's frustrating to see this debated when we know so many women are suffering.  Unite our country to stand for healthy relationships and dignity for all humans.  And, God, give me the courage to advocate for women in unhealthy situations.  Amen.
