Twelve people were killed and others injured after a shooting at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.
God, I'm exhausted when I hear about these massacres, whether they happen in schools, malls or movie theaters. And now it's affected those who serve our country as they go about their daily business.
My heart hurts to know that there are people grieving after such violence. We know that there are people who now must heal from physical, emotional and spiritual trauma. So, God, give each of those directly affected by this violence peace and comfort. And for all of us who are shaken when we hear about these incidents, provide us the faith and courage needed to step outside of our doors and create a hope-filled world. Amen.
