Ponder: It is said that everybody is going to die, but nobody believes it. Buddhists have an advanced meditation: reflecting on their own corpses, decomposing in a graveyard. We say that Christians, at baptism, are baptized "into Christ's death."
Facing our own mortality—thinking not morbidly but realistically about our deaths—can make our daily lives entirely sweeter.
Pray: God, fire my imagination in the right way, so that I can own the fact of my death, and get everything out of this life and the life to come that You intend for me.
