UCC Disaster Ministries is hiring a Construction Manager for its Port Arthur, Texas, work site and an Eastern Regional Disaster Recovery Specialist to assist with long-term recovery from Hurricanes Florence and Michael and other major regional disasters.
The Construction Manager will report to the President of the South East Texas Community Development Corporation (SET CDC). This is a full-time salary position that is expected to oversee all aspects of construction projects, including assessments, for SETCDC (in cooperation with UCC Disaster Ministries) as it pertains to the rehabilitation of properties damaged by Hurricane Harvey and/or properties that will be used to house persons/families displaced by Hurricane Harvey.
The Disaster Recovery Specialist will report to the Conference Minister of the Southern Conference UCC, Burlington, N.C., and receive work supervision from the UCC Disaster Ministries Executive. The incumbent may work from a remote location, with responsibility in FEMA Regions 1, 2, 3 and 4. The hiring of a Disaster Recovery Specialist (DRS) will decrease the burden on Conference Disaster Coordinators in the region by shifting many of the response/recovery responsibilities to the DRS.
