Tropical Storm Gustav

On the verge of hurricane strength, Tropical Storm Gustav has killed at least 23 people in Haiti, eight in the Domincan Republic and displaced thousands from their homes.
Tropical Storm Gustav causes severe damage in Haiti and the Domincan Republic and is now headed toward the U.S. Golf Coast.
Initial reports indicate that 31 people have died, and tremendous damage to housing and property in Haiti and the Dominican Republic has displaced thousands from their homes.
The United Church of Christ/Global Ministries Partners in the Dominican Republic and Haiti are actively accessing damage and activating emergency response teams.
The Office of National Disaster Ministries, United Church of Christ staff are in touch with Gulf Coast Partners to offer support as they make storm preparations.
One Great Hour of Sharing funds will be shared with Partners in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and the U. S. As they provide emergency and long term recovery assistance.
What you can do
1. Pray for people who live in communities affected by tropical storms.
