This publication was assembled with the idea of assisting religious leaders in all denominations to conduct services in conjunction with the first United Nations Environmental Sabbath during June, 1990. Part I is introductory, containing factual data concerning environmental issues: global warming and climate change, ozone depletion, global air pollution, freshwater resources and water quality, deforestation and desertification, sound management of biotechnology, hazardous waste and toxic chemical disposal, and the hazards of pollution.
