Hurricane Sandy, (unofficially knows as "Superstorm Sandy") in October 2012, affected 24 states in the U.S.  It was the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season and the second-costliest in U.S. history.  The Long-Term rebuilding and recovery process continues.  Atlantic County Revive is the Long-Term Recovery Group assembled in Atlantic County to provide coordinated management of the long-term recovery process in helping these communities move forward.  

Work Needed: Repair/Rebuild homes damaged by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012.

Time:  Arrive Sunday afternoon and depart Saturday morning.  Work Monday - Friday.  

Minimum Age:  14 years.  Volunteers under age 18 have specific waiver forms requiring parent/guardian signature.

Adult to Youth Ratio:  1:4

Group Size Maximum:  12  

Accommodations:  Local UCC church.  Cots and kitchen facilities provided.  Groups bring own sleeping bags.  Groups purchase and prepare own food.

Required:  Insurance certificate from the sending church and waiver forms.

Cost:  $50 per person per week, payable to the local hospitality church on-site to offset utilities and maintenance costs.  Building materials and tools, and construction supervision provided through local partners through individual case management.  Your donations to One Great Hour of Sharing® help make possible the local work of the Long-Term Recovery Committee.

Tools:  Groups should bring standard carpentry tools.
