Church Building & Loan Fund

Our mission is to assist congregations younger than 30 years, as well as renewing congregations, who are planning to buy either a first house of worship or a land site or want to build or renovate their building.

We make loans up to $2,500,000 at below market interest rates. We also partner with other lenders, such as local banks and the UCC Cornerstone Fund, to finance larger projects.

Through our Partners in Building program, we work with local UCC congregations and their conferences toward the goal of financial self-sufficiency that will qualify our partners for their first loan.

In 2012, we will host two gatherings of Partners. The locations and dates will be determined soon, so please check back later, if you are interested in attending. The purpose of these events is to provide congregations with valuable information on: (1) steps and requirements to obtain a loan; (2) real estate, legal, insurance and issues related to the ownership of property; and (3) a time to network and share fellowship stories.

We held two successful gatherings of Partners in 2011, and we received overwhelming, positive responses from our participants. One participant indicated that attending this event "gives us hope and more energy to build our visions…" If you want to build your "vision," you might consider attending one of these events.

We also offer Capital Campaign Services to assist churches in raising revenue to expand its mission and outreach. A successful campaign will increase member participation in leadership roles and renew their understanding to give more generously as an act of worship.

We support the UCC Fellowship of Architects, a national group of professionals who are UCC members. This fellowship holds annual, continuing education events, and many members have assisted local congregations as they began thinking about their building projects.

We are willing to answer your questions about building and loan related issues, Capital Campaign Services, provide helpful resources, and meet with local congregations interested in partnering with us to develop their ministry.
