Bricks Career Development/Community Based Program

Bricks Career Development/Community Based Program

The Franklinton Center at Bricks will be presenting the Bricks Career Development/ Community Based Program. Every year Franklinton Center at Bricks-UCC and Justice and Witness Ministries continues working with our partners from the Halifax, Edgecombe County School System, and North Carolina Cooperative Extension. This year for the first time Wells Fargo will be facilitating financial training to the students.

The program is designed to assist their reading enrichment development and to learning new skills, to promote and create awareness in our community.   With the assistance of a local volunteers, CRD Agent from Edgecombe County Center, Wells Fargo, and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program EFNEP from North Carolina Cooperative Extension, the students will be learning the principal of Hospitality, Wells Fargo will teach the principal of saving and how to handle money, and the EFNEP program will teach them the importance of healthy lifestyles including healthy eating and physical activities.  The program is designed to help students to earn extra credit hours to obtain their High School Diploma.  Our goal is to have the student reading in an eleven and twelve grade level, and taking with them a work force skill for a brighter future.
