• We listen for God’s voice in scripture, in music, in science, in reason, in prayer, in rigorous debate.
• We prepare leaders who are open to and prepared for ministry in the present and future church.

Because we believe in extravagant welcome, this is why …

• We insist that God’s table is open, not closed, and God’s gift and claim in baptism are irrevocable.  That, too, is extravagant welcome.
• We advocate justice for all.
• We help congregations to extend hospitality in practical ways.
• We teach that evangelism — welcoming others — is mission.
• We believe our perspective must be global — otherwise, it’s narrow and provincial, and, therefore, exclusive.
• We are an ecumenical, interfaith, united and uniting church.

• We teach and preach about the transforming love of Jesus Christ — his passion, death and resurrection.
• We believe that churches must be vital places of worship, learning and service.
• We proclaim God's redemptive power — in individual lives, in political systems, and in governmental policies at home and around the world.
• We believe that lives are changed through global partnerships and experiences.
